Francesca Woodman was an American photographer who created at least 10,000 negatives, mostly medium format, in her short lifetime. Her work is soft and surreal, haunting and dark, dreamy and serene. A large majority of her photos are long exposure self-portraits. Woodman committed suicide in 1981, at the tender young age of 22.
